How to find the perfect foundation for yourself. I give a couple of useful tips!

The most difficult thing in the selection of decorative cosmetics is to find the perfect foundation for your skin, without the puzzles with the adjuster (this is such a "corrector" of the tonal basis) or a thick layer of bronzer to darken the tone.

The question of the selection of tonal means is very relevant. Millions of women torture makeup artists with this question, but there is no single answer to it. In this article, we will learn how to choose a foundation for our beloved and sort out foundation products on the shelves.

Before choosing a foundation, ask yourself three questions:

1. In what format do I want the product?
2. What effect do you want to get?
3. What hiding power do I need?

I intentionally skip the question about the type of skin, because if the owner of oily skin wants a foundation with a wet finish, then who will forbid her? Another question is how long it will stay on the skin.

So let's go!

Foundation format

1. Pipette bottle

Foundations come in bottles that we are all used to. There is no particular sense to describe something here, but I will mention one important detail.

Eyedropper foundation (it is also called tonal fluid) contains volatile silicones. It is very runny compared to foundations. Volatile silicones evaporate when the foundation is applied, leaving behind only pigment.

They are great for oily skin. But the owners of dry skin may have problems, since there are no moisturizing ingredients in the composition, and the pigment can emphasize peeling.

Now manufacturers call fluid and foundation, which have a light coverage and are suitable for dry skin. It is easy to get confused in the "conceptual apparatus", but to distinguish it is real by its consistency: the tonal fluid is liquid, like water, spreads over the skin; and the fluid for dry skin is slightly thicker.

2. Cushion

This format appeared not so long ago on the market, but it has proven itself very well. It is convenient to use, it does not take up much space in a bag and on a shelf in the bathroom, the sunlight will not harm the contents.

Cushion is economical to use but runs out quickly. Paradox? No, it's just that the tool itself is not much, but here there is a kind of plus: many brands can buy a separate refill, which is inserted into an existing box. Refills are much cheaper.

3. Colored powder

Option, of course, so-so. But someone uses it too. Now I'm not talking about pressed, but about loose colored powder. This option is not suitable for everyone. It is good for oily skin and skin that has nothing to hide. It is best to apply to the base for the tone, so it will stick better.

4. BB, CC - creams

BB, CC creams are also toning agents. They have a little more emphasis on skin care than a regular foundation. I described everything in detail about this format in a separate material (if you are interested - link to it at the end of the article).

My selection of foundations for dry skin that are 5-plus!

We figured out the formats, let's move on ...

Desired finish

There are no clear boundaries by skin type, but there are recommendations.

The matte finish is a favorite of those who get in the way of an oily sheen. This finish is chosen by owners of oily skin type, because it has no shine and restrains the natural shine.

My selection of foundations for oily skin that I would recommend to girls

Natural finish (or as it is also called - satin) contains some radiant particles, and will suit absolutely all skin types. For dry skin, it will give a natural shine, on normal and oily skin - it will emphasize the beauty.

Do not rush to write in the comments that oily skin does not need any shine and must be hidden. Perhaps I will not agree. Shine on the skin (if without brute force, as it happens with a highlighter, as if chicken fat ran over the skin) - it is beautiful!

Matte textures fade into the background, naturalness is in fashion. But if you have oily skin, then keep in mind that the life of your makeup will decrease. And to avoid this - fix the tone with powder.

Shining finish (or wet). There is already more radiance here. Sometimes you can make it yourself by adding a little liquid highlighter to the foundation with a natural shine, or you can buy it ready-made.

Of course, it works for dry skin. But keep in mind, there should not be any flaking on the face, otherwise the tonal foundation can emphasize them.

For normal skin types, a wet finish is also suitable. As, in fact, everyone else.

Hiding power

Everything is standard here: there is a light, medium and dense tone. If you have good skin, without redness and color nuances, and all you need is to even out your complexion a little, then choose a light degree of coverage.

Choose a medium overlap if you have small color nuances (pigmentation, redness, rosacea, etc.).

A dense tone should be chosen if you have something to hide from a serious one: acne, severe hyperpigmentation, etc.

But keep in mind that no remedy will hide a pimple, you can level its color, but the tubercle will be visible, there is nothing you can do about it.

When applying foundation, remember that the thicker the layer, the more visible it will be on your face. Therefore, it is better to apply it in a thin even layer and layer only in those places where it is required, but without brute force (otherwise it will be visible).

There are special brushes for even application of a thin layer of foundation. But there are so many varieties of them that this is a topic for another article. If you are interested - put a "thumbs up" and subscribe to the channel so as not to miss in the feed.

P.S. Promised link to BB, CC creams here.
