Throughout the series, the sovereign requires only one thing from everyone, including his children - complete obedience and undeniable fulfillment of his orders.
However, when Mustafa received the order from Suleiman to execute Ramazanoglu Piri Pasha, considering him a traitor to the state, Mustafa executed a completely different person - Iskander - Pasha, and Ramazanoglu bestowed life.
Rustem Pasha did not miss the opportunity, and he reported everything to the sovereign. The sultan took such an offense of his son as a personal insult and rebellion against him, and ordered Mustafa to come to the capital to explain his actions.
Arriving in Istanbul, Mustafa told his father that he had made his own investigation, in which it turned out that Ramazanoglu Piri Pasha was not guilty, he is also devoted to his state and ruler, and Iskander Pasha is a true traitor who, in order to hide his deeds, slandered Piri Pasha and his family.
Despite the fact that Mustafa provided the Sultan with all the evidence, Suleiman was still dissatisfied with his disobedience.
Only here Mustafa put forward an undeniable argument:
- Father! You have always taught me tirelessly, fearlessly, to seek justice. This is what I did.
After reading the documents, Suleiman was transported from the fire of anger to the coolness of peace.
Mustafa thought that he was finally able to prove to his father that he was a worthy son, because, like his father taught him, he always sought justice. However, when the list of participants in the military campaign was announced, Mustafa was not on it.
Honestly, I feel sorry for Mustaf - no matter how hard he tried to prove his loyalty and respect to his father, he was still in the disgrace of the sovereign.
