To get sick less and spend less money on medicines, you need to learn to choose from a large number of products those that do not contain dangerous food additives.
Usually all the necessary information is indicated on the labels, but not everyone understands the symbols, even when they see them. Let's fill the gap in this knowledge with this article.
Decoding labels
• Additives are identified with the letter "E".
• The number next to a letter indicates a specific substance.
The list of food additives is very long, but the most common main types of additives indicated on food labels can be distinguished:
• Dyes (E1).
• Preservatives (E2).
• Antioxidants (E3).
• Stabilizers (E4).
• Emulsifiers (E5).
• Amplifiers of smell and taste (E6).
• Antibiotics (E7).
Of course, not all supplements are harmful to our health. For example, paprika E160 and pectins E440 are very beneficial for our body and only add health and vitality to the body.
But there are also frankly harmful substances that provoke diseases such as cancer, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, etc.
Harmful food additives
These primarily include:
• Synthetic sweeteners E951 and E950, this is aspartame and acesulfame potassium, lead to pathological changes in the kidneys, tooth decay, and impact on the psycho-emotional state of a person.
• Corn syrup, when used for a long time, contributes to the onset of type 2 diabetes.
• Monosodium glutamate is referred to as E621 or MSG supplements that cause excessive food intake.
