I look a little ahead, into 2022, in order to understand which of the trends will stay with us for a long time. It becomes clear that the return of the low waist awaits us. Is it triumphant? Some "new items" I would like to put out without even trying them on, and rather find a more practical replacement for them.
Low rise pants and skirts
This has never happened, and here it is again! We all wore clothes with a low waist in the 2000s, and for quite a long time - for five years, or even more. After a while, women of fashion were suspicious of the tendency for a high seating position (the contrast "before" and "after" went off scale). We got used to it. And in 2022, the belts of trousers and skirts will tend to go down lower and lower.
I am determined to resist this trend and continue to choose high and medium waist pieces for myself, because I have no desire to show my underwear to others. Plus, in high trousers and jeans, my legs look much longer. With a height of 158 cm - this is an argument!
Microbags
Now at the peak of popularity are miniature handbags with leather handles, long straps or chains, as if borrowed from Barbie. They literally fit in two fingers of the hand, are attached to the wrist or wrapped around the ankle strap. In short, this is a bag that cannot even hold a phone.
As for accessories, here I am for practicality. I choose a soft or frame-shaped tote model with good capacity for everyday wear and a medium-sized clutch for the evening.
Thin straps
Zero was an era of triumphant freedom, outright glamor and a desire to go all out. The trend for narrow shoulder straps and cobweb lacing on tops and dresses is from there. A minimum of clothing and a maximum of an open body. These clothing options are good for 18 year old girls. This is exactly a trend that I can admire from afar, looking at others, but I hardly prefer to implement it in my own wardrobe. In addition, the problem of the selection of underwear will arise.
Cropped Cardigans
Knitwear and knitted items take pride of place in the autumn-winter capsules. In the new season, designers offer to wear trendy cardigans directly on the naked body. Moreover, choosing from them those that are shorter and barely reach the waist line. Or fasten them only with the top button, and wear them wide open.
I'd rather dress "the old fashioned" and for the weather in the cardigan that is more authentic. And I'll throw it on as a second layer. So there is hope to become more frost-resistant.
"Naked" dress
Is the dress “naked” or am I wearing it? The bold transparent outfit, embellished with rhinestones and stones, gives rise to ambiguity. Incidentally, the main trend of the spring-summer 2022 season.
If I want to add fire, then I'd rather choose a dress with spicy cuts. It's more intriguing than walking around in your underwear and a weird cape.
All these things I brush aside not because I am embarrassed to wear them. I bet on moderation and mindfulness. In low jeans and a top that barely holds on to thin straps, it is unlikely that you will be able to comfortably spend the whole day. Although, as an option for a party - it's not so bad.
