For several years I have been doing manicure with gel polish without interruption. I just couldn't imagine how it would be to refuse such a cool service. At first I wanted to try as many colors and designs as possible. Then I became the most conservative client of my master, making a strictly monochromatic coating.
Why I gave up on gel polish
Somehow I began to notice that I began to like the "naked" nails of others. I saw how more and more interesting personalities to me refuse to cover, but I myself could not make up my mind. She switched completely to translucent colors, painted only with a base - milky, pink, beige.
March 2020 came, we were planted at home and for the first time in all years I removed the coating without applying a new one. I took it off in the "field" conditions, having bought the first available gel polish remover in a store near my home. My master has a super high-quality coating, which considered it shameful to surrender to the first Severina that came across (that was the name of this tool).
As a result, I removed the gel polish, but a very thin layer of the base remained, I did not file it down to a bare nail. And you know, even in this form I liked my nails! I just wanted to look at them endlessly, it was a hit in the bull's-eye.
I didn’t do any more gel polish, for almost 1.5 years I didn’t get tired of bare nails, and moreover, I still enjoy them.
Whether to do a manicure with gel polish in 2021, is it relevant
Gel polish is not at all synonymous with grooming and beauty. A strange stereotype has taken root in the heads of many women that if you love yourself, if you want to look brand new, you need to do a manicure with gel polish. No other way! It is also not worth giving up gel polish for everyone. If you like it, if you enjoy it, then do it, of course. If you have problem nails that are beautifully transformed thanks to the gel, and you need it - do it! I have no task to dissuade you from doing a manicure with gel polish. I want to convey that it is not necessary for well-groomed and neat hands.
What helps me get my hands well-groomed
What you should pay attention to - nails should always be well filed. I do not accept long uncoated nails, for me it is ugly, I will not impose my opinion. The simplest and most elementary rule is that all nails should be strictly the same length. And one shape. It would seem so banal, but for some reason many neglect it.
Sometimes I can paint my nails with a colorless varnish, it looks just fine on nails. But I do it infrequently, I love nails without shine. I already wrote once about my favorite varnishes, which are somewhat similar to a camouflage base, this is a BB coating from Divaj.
My biggest problem is this cuticle. By nature, I have it rough and thick, problems with it began long before I began to do the trim manicure. Many girls are helped by the refusal to cut the cuticle, with time it becomes almost invisible for them. Not my case.
I continue to get my nails done, but I don't get the coating. I like the way the master handles my cuticles, wielding a cutter and a file. But to be honest, I don’t visit the master every 3 weeks. Sometimes I can disappear from his radar for a couple of months. Still, gel polish disciplines in this regard.
And the most important thing for me is not to forget to take care of the cuticles. Daily! This is a matter of 30-40 seconds, and there are many benefits.
My favorite remedy is nail wax, it is cheap and lasts for a long time. I've been ordering myself wax for yearsfor DNC L'Or nails strengthening. It has a natural composition of wax and several oils, the most important thing is that it copes with the task perfectly. There is 5 ml in a washer, it lasts for a long time, the consumption is very small. I don't even want to try anything new, before that it suits me.

Cuticle oil also helps me, I bought the first one I got. Not as cool as wax, but overall good. Ideally, homework should be done with gloves, but I don't like it very much and constantly neglect it. Don't do that!
