For almost 5 years now I have been going home to a manicure master and applying gel polish. It turned out to be so convenient. Chose the desired color, design, and wear for 2-3 weeks. I have a good master, I never had problems with nails, although I heard stories about the fact that nails deteriorate and become brittle. But I even took a break for a couple of months, and did not notice that there were problems with my nails.
So, as I said, I sign up to the master once every 3 weeks, and then I brought varnish for a whole month. I just could not find a window in my schedule, and then the girl had no places for me. And so it happened that I went with the gel polish for a month. Of course, this was the case, but the master scolded me and told me not to do this anymore.
Why do you need to change gel polish every 3 weeks?
First, the nail grows back very quickly. The gap between the coating and the cuticle becomes more and more, which means that it is visually very noticeable and looks sloppy. I had a dark application, so I agree, the nails did not look very good. If you already know for sure that you can skip a visit to the master, then it is better not to repeat my mistake, and apply nude shades. So at least it will not be noticeable that the marigolds have grown strongly.
Secondly, the cuticle itself was striking. She became very visible and rude. I confess that I only put cream on my hands, and then I remember about it once a week. And without leaving the cuticle dries up.
Thirdly, the coating changes over time not only externally, but also internally! Not only the gel, but also the base begins to lose its properties, and slowly exfoliates from the marigold. This leads to cracks and chips. As a result, the nails themselves become thin and brittle.
Fourth, an incredibly large number of bacteria accumulate under regrown nails. It may seem to us that there is nothing there, but in fact there is plenty of dirt there. You can cope with this if you independently, without waiting for a visit to the master, carefully file the marigolds. Also, do not forget to rinse under your nails with soap and a brush every day.
Fifth, long nails can break over time, especially if you have extensions. By the way, I built up a couple of times in the salon, and I did not like this feeling of something alien and superfluous on the nails. Therefore, the master needs to choose a proven one for such a procedure, and all materials must be of high quality.
Nails may not perceive the coating, base, reinforcement at all. My friend is so "hit". She made herself applying gel polish, and on the same day the detachment began. Everything fell off the nails. Yes, it happens.
What about the pedicure?
And with a pedicure, everything is the same. Yes, toenails grow more slowly, the gel wears out there, too, more slowly. But, every time you paint marigolds, you create an additional load for them, although you may not feel it. But this can lead to various deformations, calluses, ingrown nails. In winter, in general, a pedicure with gel polish is useless. We wear closed shoes, nails can get in the way, well, you understand. Better to leave this procedure for the summer.

You always want to keep up with fashion. In the spring-summer of 2022, shades such as pastel, nude, pink, blue, green and yellow will be fashionable. For Fall and Winter 2022, go for wine, deep green, blue, and brown. All will also remain relevant: silver, gold, white, black and red.
