Nurten always treated Meryem with hatred, believing that her smart son did not need her poor daughter-in-law. And after Oktay's death, she hated her even more. Nurten dreamed of taking revenge on the girl, so much so that she would die in agony, considering her to be guilty of all the troubles of Oktay.
Initially, Nurten decided to throw Meryem off the cliff, but she could not muster the courage for this dastardly act. But Nurten vowed that she would live as long as Meryem lived, and would not rest until she sent the girl after her son.
Nurten met a woman whose heart was also filled with revenge - the mother of Mahmud. The woman brought poison for Nurten, a drop of which can take a person's life. But a person will die in agony.
Nutren was able to get into Meriem's bakery and smear poison on the rim of a glass in her room. It only remained to wait for Meryem to drink water from this glass.
However, Susan Hendersen, who came to Istanbul, admired Meryem's fortitude and decided to protect her. Upon learning of Nurten's evil plan, Susan ordered to bring her to her house. And then she put in front of the woman the same glass that she had smeared with poison. Nurten tried to prove that Meryem deserves to die, but Susan, pouring the contents of the glass into Nurten's face, warned that next time she would make it drink.
Nurten's plan failed again and the woman was never able to avenge her son's death. But soon, she learns that Oktay did not die at all and is waiting for her in his new home.
