Mihrimah Sultan was always very respectful of her mother.
Despite the fact that she was a mistress, if she wanted, could marry the one whom she loved, she did not dare to contradict Khyurrem Sultan and married the one whom her mother chose for her.
In the palace, Mihrimah was respected, and she also treated the members of the dynasty with respect. However, if her mother was offended, Mihrimah did not stand in silence, but always “closed” her mouth to her offenders. And most often the offenders of Khyurrem Sultan were the sisters of Suleiman, aunt Mihrimah.
At first they had to fight with one Alexandra Anastasia Lisowska, but later with two Alexandra Anastasia Lisowska, because according to them, Mihrimah was a copy of her mother.
Such a comparison did not offend Mihrimah, but on the contrary flattered her that she was being compared with the influential and indomitable Khyurrem Sultan.
As she once, to Shah Khuban's remark that she looks like a mother, she replied:
- I'll take it as an honor.
Mikhrimah once “bared his teeth” against her aunts, quickly got a taste for it, and began to put them in place, periodically. But after Khyurrem Sultan was kidnapped, Mihrimakh broke up in earnest.
Khatije Sultan and Shah Khuban heard many flattering words from the young mistress. And later, Shah Khuban drove out of the palace altogether. And this is my favorite moment in The Magnificent Century.
But Mihrimah did not stop there either, later she drove Shakh-khuban out of the capital, forcing him to pay a tidy sum to the Khyurrem-Sultan fund.
What to say? Well done girl!
