Hello to all readers of my channel!

A couple of months ago I published a useful article about eyeliners and talked about the durability of Vivienne Sabo pencils.

In the comments, the readers advised the Maybelline Tattoo Liner pencils. They were said to be the most persistent. After your advice, I just could not help but test them, I bought 5 pieces of different colors at once.

She grabbed the pencils for the action. Those who subscribe to my channel see the posts that I publish about discounts and buy cosmetics much cheaper than in stores.

These are gel, long-lasting pencils that are ideal for drawing mucous membranes or between eyelashes. Some people have questions about how to sharpen such a pencil. The answer is simple: just like ordinary ones - with a sharpener. Do not worry that they are plastic, everything is perfectly sharpened.

Shades of pencils

So, I bought 4 Tattoo Liner in shades: 920, 942, 910, 932 and one Tattoo Liner Smokey in black.

I liked the colors! 920 - rich, beautiful blue.

932 - dark green, similar to the color of "green", but this is not a minus. This is not a matte pencil, it has a little shimmer in it.

910 - dark brown, it does not go into a reddish color, but more into a cold shade.

942 - closer to cherry, in the picture it seemed to me more plum, you need to be careful with it, it can make "sore" eyes.

The black turned out to be deep, charcoal, not gray.

About the durability of Maybelline Tattoo Liner pencils

Since they were advised to me under the article with Vivienne Sabo pencils, I decided to compare the two brands in terms of durability. To understand exactly and make sure for yourself personally whether there is a difference and which of them is more persistent.

For the purity of the experiment, I checked two brown pencils, because the formula can change from color, which affects the durability and how the pencils will fit on the eyelid.

At 1:29 pm, I applied a Vivienne Sabo pencil to my right eye and Maybelline to my left. They are applied equally well, they fit perfectly on the mucous membrane and on the lower lash line. Not knowing that the pencils are different before our eyes, the difference is not visible at all.

I spent the whole day at home, at the computer, preparing new interesting materials for you. Naturally, she rubbed her eyes (I can't wean myself from this) and was cleaning the apartment. I endured as long as possible, I wanted to endure 12 hours, but sleep won and at 00:14 it can be seen in my red eyes.

But, what can't you do for the sake of experiment :-)

The photo shows that they lasted exactly the same, both have excellent durability. I often have watery eyes and some pencils may drip around the outer corner, everything went great here.

In addition to browns, I tested other colors for durability, but only on my hand: I painted and washed off at the same time with brown on my eyes, and I have something to say about their durability.

As you can see, it was green that turned out to be less persistent, and all because it contains a shimmer. Often the shine in pencils and eyeliners is reflected in durability, and they last a little less than their matte counterparts.

The second place from the end was shared by cherry 942 and black. After him comes blue and the most persistent - brown, which rightfully deserve a medal for endurance.

Tattoo liner smokey

As you may have noticed, I chose black from a slightly different line. The reason is that it was very interesting for me to test both this series and the black one. I didn't want to take two black ones, because I practically don't use this pencil color in my makeup. And I want to write a little about Tattoo Liner Smokey separately.

Gel pencils practically do not lend themselves to shading, they quickly set and fix. To somehow shade them, you need to act quickly and this requires a certain skill.

Therefore, I decided to try the Tattoo Liner Smokey gel pencil, which, in theory, should have durability and shade well. This is a retractable pencil on one side and a shading sponge on the other. By the way, if you pull out the part with the sponge, then you can find a sharpener for this pencil to sharpen the tip.

I can say that shading it is not easy, but a little easier than regular gel pencils. The attached sponge does not do the job very well, but it is still more convenient to do it with a synthetic barrel brush. The pencil is quickly fixed. It is better to shade not after you have completely drawn the arrow, but after each line that you want to shade in the future.
