This is not Yeti, not Godzilla, or even a new part of "Star Wars". In England, a real woman gave birth to a child wearing a Chewbacca mask. So she decided to take her mind off the pain during childbirth.
In the modern world, a variety of types of childbirth are practiced. There is childbirth in the water, childbirth under hypnosis, vertical childbirth, lotus birth and even a "soft" cesarean section when the mother is awake. Englishwoman Aimee Smith did not find this assortment enough, and the woman offered the world her own original type of childbirth. You can call it "childbirth in the image": Amy gave birth to a child in a Chewbacca mask. According to the woman, this helped her to relate to the process easier and distract herself from pain. In addition, she made the midwives laugh, so the two-hour labor was positive.
Amy Smith from Cumbria (UK) has this third birth. Her first and second children were born in a "classic" way. But the birth of the third baby, the woman decided to "celebrate" as something unusual. Her sister gave her the idea of giving birth in a Chewbacca mask (one of the main characters in the fantasy epic Star Wars). At first, the idea seemed crazy to Amy, but she nevertheless bought the mask, and even secretly carried it to the hospital.

Amy was afraid that doctors would not appreciate her creativity, but the opposite happened: as soon as the woman in labor put on a mask, the midwives around her smiled. The longer the labor lasted, the more difficult it was for the nursing staff to restrain their laughter. The fact is that the Chewbacca mask not only changes the appearance of a person, it is capable of changing his voice. Aimee's moans and screams turned into Chuuya's roars and howls.
The woman says that the comic situation helped her to abstract from pain and to endure childbirth much easier. She looked at her husband and the midwives, who were choking with laughter, and she could hardly restrain her laughter. Two hours of childbirth were completely positive, and the whole process was filmed by Aimee's husband. Mom and Dad will show it to the child as soon as Albi (that's the name of the baby) grows up.

“I can imagine how Albi felt. As soon as he came out into the light, the first thing he saw was two midwives in an awkward position, me and his dad, dying with laughter. It was such an event, only the popcorn was missing, ”the creative woman in labor told the Daily Mail.
It is difficult to predict how the child will appreciate the idea of the mother. Indeed, in our understanding, the birth of a baby is a great sacrament that must be treated with trepidation. At the same time, more and more women treat this process without reverence and are creative who are good at what. And by the way, Chewbacca's mask "lit up" twice in this process. It was used by another woman in labor, this time from American Detroit. Katie Curtis posted her video on her Facebook page and captioned: “Just because I’m becoming a mom doesn’t mean I need to become an adult.”
