How to make a sling with old fabric at home: step by step instructions

You will need:

• Cloth at least two and a half meters long (70 to 80 centimeters)
• Metal rings for fixing the sling - 2 pieces.
• Threads of the corresponding color.
• Scissors.
• Meter tape or long ruler.

Step-by-step instruction:

First, you need to prepare all the materials. Stretch fabric is perfect for sewing baby sling. She will hold the newborn well. Also, the selected fabric should not be too thick. Otherwise, while fixing the baby in the sling, the knots and folds will be too rough, and thus will interfere not only with the baby, but also with you.

1. After preparing all the necessary materials and tools, measure out the fabric and cut the part to the desired size.

2. After the part of the sling has been cut out, process the cut edges. This can be done thanks to the overlock, bending it twice and stitching it on a sewing machine.
3. Next, put 2 rings at once on one of the ends of the part and stretch them about 8-10 cm.
4. Bend the fabric in place of the rings and sew several times for strength (2-3 lines at a distance of 0.2 cm from each other).
5. Ready! You now have a simple yet functional sling.
