What is the difference between biowave and that very terrible perm?

Hello everyone! I am with you again, Elizabeth. And today we will talk about beautiful curls, which many owners of straight hair so desire to have :-)

You have probably heard about such a salon procedure as biowave. Say, something more modern and more perfect than the very perm, from which the hair was dry and served as an excellent entourage for an explosion at a pasta factory.

On the left - a perm, on the right - biowave, as if your curls

But if we ask ourselves a question and run for an answer to Google, what is the difference between a perm and a biowave, we can get confused. Really. Some chemical waving with new means is called biowaving, i.e. do not see the difference.

Others write that the main difference between biowaving and perm is that 60% of natural products are used in the first one. And if there are 59% natural remedies - is it no longer a biowave? And why are natural ingredients safer than synthetic ones to change the hair structure? In general, nonsense and misleading. There are more questions than understanding the difference.

Try to guess on which photo in this article the girl has her natural curls. Write the answer in the comments.

I decided to address this question to a professional hairdresser-colorist from Moscow, who has been making complex coloring and haircuts for women with curly hair for more than 10 years. He perfectly knows all types of hair curling and teaches this skill.

Thanks to him, I now understand the clear difference between a perm and a biowave. And you will understand :-)

So what's the difference?

Have perm the main destructive component is ammonium thioglycolate. It destroys disulfide bonds - the strongest bonds in our hair, if broken, it is almost impossible to restore hair (I will add a link to this article at the end).

AT biowave active ingredient - cystamine. It is an amino acid that integrates well into disulfide chains. She does not destroy these connections, but stretches them, then connects them.

Roughly speaking, with a perm, your hair is like cardboard: you torn it, but when you glue it together, we will not get the original version. And with bio-curling, our hair is an elastic band, which was stretched a little and it returned to its original state.

Biowave should not be afraid, like its predecessor. Now they are doing such a biowave that you cannot distinguish it from real curls.

Here is such a small excursion to the biggest topic, which we will talk about in the next article - biowave. Consider also Japanese, American and Italian perms, as well as which one is suitable for those who dye henna. If interested - put your "thumbs up" and subscribe to the channel.
