How to make a velvet headband on your hair with your own hands: step by step instructions

Like accessory is never superfluous. Its beauty is that you can give yourself free rein to experiment with its appearance. For example, you can make the bezel both laconic and monochromatic, or brighter by adding colored stones. We suggest trying to make a basic model of a hoop, from which you can further create whatever your heart desires.

You will need:

• Velvet ribbon 12 mm wide;
• Lace;
• Sharp scissors;
• Monofilament and needle;
• Lighter;
• Base for 7mm bezel;
  

Instructions:

1. Measure the length of the headband around the outer edge.
2. Add another 1.5 cm to this value on each side.
3. Measure this length on a velvet tape and cut it off.
4. Using a pair of scissors, cut out a 1.5 cm tip that will cover the metal headband.

5. Attach a blank to the headband to check the dimensions.
6. Take a lighter and process the edges of the cuts.
7. Start covering the tip of the headband.
8. Start by folding the center, long piece of the velvet ribbon into the rim.
9. Then fold the two edges to the middle of the rim.
10. You should have a neat ponytail.
11. Take monofilament and a needle. Begin sewing along the velvet ribbon joining line in the center of the rim.
12. The flat side of the bezel will come out.
13. The main seam runs along the outside of the rim.
    
14. Finish it almost to the end. On the other side of the headband, cut out and shape the tip.
15. Fold and close the second end of the headband. Use a needle and monofilament to hold the elements together.
16. You will have a velvet base for the headband.
17. You can also sew lace over it if you like.
