In Ukraine, a new sanitary regulation has been approved in schools; it will take effect from January 1, 2021.
The chief sanitary doctor of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko told the details.
Nutrition will change
According to the doctor, there is also a problem of childhood obesity in Ukraine: children prefer high-calorie food, and they do little sports and physical activity. Food in the canteen also occupies an important place in the daily diet of a student, so the Ministry of Health decided to improve it.- Catering allowed
Subject to safety rules and food quality standards, schools will be able to practice field service.
- Limitations
The salt, sugar and fat content of meals prepared for children will now be brought under control.
- No junk food
Fast food, the most harmful sweets and snacks will no longer be sold in canteens of Ukrainian schools.

The emphasis will be on berries, cereals, vegetables and dairy products.
- Organization of dietary meals for children with special needs
The school will be required to arrange for a separate meal for the child with a statement of dietary needs.

If the child lives more than 2 km from the educational institution, it is necessary to provide transportation.
Teachers and other school staff will undergo preventive medical examinations without a deadline such an examination, the employee will not be able to return to the workplace at the school until he visits all relevant doctors.
School premises cannot be rented for any non-educational needs.
Internet at school
The Ministry of Health has allowed both wired and wireless Internet connections to be installed in schools. If Wi-Fi routers are installed, then they should be placed 2 meters above the floor. Computer equipment in schools must meet the following vision safety parameters:- Monitor at least 15 inches for a computer,
- Monitor at least 14 inches for a laptop.
