Eating fish at least twice a week can reduce the likelihood of many diseases.

Specialists in the field nutrition conducted an experiment and interviewed 476 thousand people.

The survey participants were asked about their habits, nutrition, their health was monitored for 15 years in order to identify certain patterns between eating habits and the incidence of cancer diseases.

In total, 6291 participants developed colon cancer during this period.

The results showed that people who ate fish on average two to three times a week (up to 350 grams at a time) reduced their risk of bowel cancer by twelve percent. The results were compared to people who only ate fish once a week.

Earlier research has shown that the omega-3 fatty acids in fish are beneficial for gut health.
