Orchids are rather whimsical plants and not all "take root".
1. An orchid needs light and warmth - but not direct sunlight. The room temperature should be around 18-22 degrees.
2. For an orchid, ordinary soil is not suitable, you need a substrate of charcoal, bark and fern roots. It sounds complicated, but it is sold in all flower shops. A good substrate should be free of dust, chips, husks, moss and other impurities.
3. Orchids do not like drafts and overheating. They should be kept away from the included battery.
4. Transplanting an orchid is usually not necessary unless the roots can no longer fit in the pot. During flowering, the orchid cannot be transplanted. It is best to do this when the orchid releases new leaves and roots.
5. It is better to keep the orchid in a transparent pot so that you can monitor the condition of the roots. They are green when healthy.
6. It is enough to water the orchid once a week with settled water. If the room is very dry, you can place a humidifier next to the plant. Water more often during flowering.7. Some types of orchids do not need to be watered, but put the pot in a container of water so that the substrate can collect water.
8. Yellow orchid leaves often indicate over-watering.
9. Once every few months, the orchid needs to be fed with a special fertilizer, which can be purchased at the flower shop.
10. If the orchid does not bloom, check the conditions in which it stands: it should not be too cold, exclude drafts. You can try to put the plant in a darker place for several days, and then return it to its original position.
