Chicken in sweet and sour sauce like from a restaurant: recipe step by step
Admit it, you also love Chinese chicken, where its main secret is its delicious sweet and sour sauce.
In order not to go broke every day for this delicious dish, we suggest you cook it at home. The quality is guaranteed not to suffer.
You will need:
- chicken fillet - 2 pcs.;
- salt, pepper - taste;
- corn starch - 0.5 cups;
- eggs - 2 pcs.;
- olive oil - 2 tablespoon;
- garlic - 3 cloves;
- sweet pepper - 1 pc.;
- apple cider vinegar - 70 ml.;
- soy sauce - 1 tablespoon;
- ketchup - 3 tablespoon;
- sugar - 80 gr.
Cooking method:
- Cut the chicken into small pieces.
- Season the chicken with salt and pepper, then add the starch.
- Roll it thoroughly so that it is completely covered in spices and breading.
- Pour the batter egg into a separate plate.
- Stir it with a fork. The yolk and white should mix.
- Soak each bite in an egg.
- Deep-fry the chicken until golden brown.
- Then place the browned slices on a paper towel.
- Throw the garlic into another pan, fry it for about a minute and add the pepper.
- First, the pepper must be cut into cubes of the same size as the chicken.
- Let it brown lightly until crusty.
- When the pepper is slightly poised, add vinegar, soy sauce, sugar and ketchup to the chicken.
- Leave the dish to infuse over the heat until thickened.
- Toss the chicken into this sweet and sour sauce.
- Simmer some more chicken in the sauce.
- Wait a couple more minutes for the dish to breathe in the vapors of the sauce.
