The D614G mutation has enabled viral particles to spread faster between a wide variety of human cell types.

The lungs, liver and intestines are most seriously affected. During the experiment, the researchers proved that the new strain increases the presence of viral particles in the intestines by 2.5 times, in the lungs by five times, in the liver by almost eight times.
