We are used to the fact that in cities at night it is so light that we cannot see the stars. And few people know that this phenomenon makes us old.
Back in the 20th century, studies have shown a direct relationship between incorrect lighting and the development of cancer. With moderate light at night, the risk of cancer increases by 30%, and with high light, by 80%.
At night, the body produces the hormone melatonin, it is also called sleep hormone. The higher the blood level, the better the person recovers during sleep and the slower they age.
How melatonin helps us:
- regulates the cycle of sleep and wakefulness;
- helps to avoid chronic fatigue;
- slows down the aging process of the body;
- strengthens the immune system;
- normalizes blood pressure and nervous system activity;
- prevents obesity;
- serves as the prevention of cancer.
If you cannot completely isolate yourself from the light during sleep, use a special eye mask. It is also worth adding to the diet foods that stimulate the production of melatonin: cherries, walnuts, tomatoes, mint, bananas, broccoli, corn and rice.
