How to help a child if a foreign object remains in the wound? What can and cannot be done?

Situations in life are different, including life-threatening and health. And you always need to know in advance how to act in such cases.

If a child is injured - and there is a foreign body in the wound - how should adults act? The answers are given by the pediatrician Evgeny Komarovsky.

At first, a foreign object must never be pulled out of the wound. You can only extract those that lie on the surface. If attempts to remove a foreign body increase bleeding and pain, stop immediately.

Secondly, you need to urgently seek medical help. With such wounds, you cannot self-medicate, even if you, conditionally, have a grandmother or a neighbor who is a nurse.

Bleeding must be stopped before medical attention arrives. Without touching the foreign object, you need to clamp the wound above it. The site of injury must be rinsed and disinfected, apply a pressure bandage crosswise around the foreign object.

If you do not call an ambulance or it will not arrive soon, if you are going to the hospital on your own, then you need to fix the object in the wound so that it does not move.

To do this, cover it with a cloth and apply another bandage.
