The children's nearsightedness blame... homework. To such conclusion the British scientists have established a link between the time that the baby spends on execution of "homework" and the development of myopia. London experts found that children today spend too much time for learning.

Myopia usually develops in childhood, when there is a formation of the eyeball, which is extended by purchasing instead of the spherical shape - the shape of an egg. For this reason, the eye lens becomes more curved, and light incident not properly focused in the eye.
What causes myopia?
Myopia - a disease of genetic nature, as they had previously thought. But doctors say now this disease develops under the influence of external factors.
British experts have managed to show that students from prestigious schools (unlike their peers who study in regular schools) twice as likely to face the problem of visual impairment. The longer a child is sitting on the books, the greater the likelihood of developing myopia, British scientists believe.
