Quarantine has made adjustments to life. For example, due to the cancellation of trains only from 11 to 15 March, passengers returned 303 thousand train tickets for more than 86 million UAH.
Many Ukrainians apply in line for refunds for previously purchased concert or travel tickets. Those who bought tickets online were more fortunate - they could get the cost of the ticket back. But with ticket offices at railway stations it is somewhat more difficult, because access to them will appear only after quarantine. And this situation is not only with train tickets.
In fact, all customers of a particular service have the right to choose: in the event of a canceled flight or event everyone can receive either funds, or an alternative - a different route or performance, or choose another suitable date. But in any case, the organizer cannot impose his opinion. If the passenger does not agree, then the airline must return the money.
“If this does not happen, then the passenger must contact the State Aviation Service of Ukraine, but after contacting the carrier and receiving a refusal or no response - then the state aviation service can fine the carrier for violating the rules and then the passenger can contact court", - said the lawyer in the field of aviation law Andriy Guk in the program "Ranks with Ukraine".
Concerning tickets for concerts, performances and other similar events, when there is an alternative date, money is not returned.
“If the concert or theatrical performance has been canceled and a new date has not been set, then, yes, the viewer can get the ticket price. According to the ticket instructions section 10, the organizer of the event is responsible for the return of funds in case of cancellation and transfer of events ", - explains the head of the ticket sales company Dmitry Feliksov.
As for train tickets, there are certain operating ticket offices in the regional centers for refunds. If you do not live in the regional center, you should wait. At the end of the quarantine, at any Ukrzaliznytsia ticket office, it will be possible to return the purchased ticket and receive 100% of its value, and within the specified time frame. And this is 90 days after the departure of the train on the internal connection and 180 days on the international. For example, a train that was canceled on March 18 has a ticket refund deadline of June 18. If the quarantine is extended, the deadline for ticket refunds will also be extended.
