Passengers usually spend very little time in the elevator, so why is a mirror installed in almost every car?
The illusion of speed
At the beginning of the industrial era, an unpleasant situation arose in one of the first multi-storey centers - the passengers of the elevator began to complain that it was moving very slowly.
And the owner of the elevators admitted that for technical reasons it is unrealistic to do anything with the speed of the car's movement. And that's how the team solved the problem - the idea came up to install a mirror inside.
As a result, it turned out that passengers who looked at themselves in the mirror of the elevator said that it was moving faster. This was not the case, though.
Claustrophobia
Small space, lack of air, inability to understand the principle of the mechanism, fear of heights and others fears disturb people and cause anxiety. Having a mirror in the elevator helps to solve these problems.
Safety
Mirrored lifts add a sense of security, as you can watch other people in the car without having to move.

Boredom
It is very easy to get bored in the elevator, and the mirror will not let you. It is better to look in a mirror than at an empty wall or at the floor. And some people think that the mirrors in elevators were invented specifically in order to make them selfie.
Help for people with disabilities
The mirror helps people with disabilities to get on the elevator without having to turn around. Looking at the reflection, you can safely drive in and out of the cab in reverse.
