If a crack has formed on the free edge of the nail, then the problem is solved easily - cut it off. But what if the crack was formed not even in the stress zone, but right in the middle of the nail?
One of the obvious options is remove the length and walk without cover for a couple of weeksuntil the crack reaches the free edge. The obvious option has disadvantages:
1) nail care is a little more responsible than usual: in a humid environment, a crack will be an ideal place for a fungus to colonize, and there it is already close to hyperkeratosis and onychomycosis;
2) a nail with a crack will cling to everything around and scratch, there are people who experience terrible discomfort because of this;
3) corny not every girl will accept to remove the length.
The next solution to the problem is to ask the master (or try to do it yourself) restore the nail with silk. The length does not have to be removed, since the silk will well tighten the edges of the crack. Nothing will cling. Silk does not make the nail heavier, strengthens it and is almost invisible, merges with the natural color of the nail plate.
Silk for nails is sold, as a rule, in strips: 3 cm wide and a meter long.
Before restoring and strengthening the nail with silk, you must:
1) remove the old coating;
2) make an unedged manicure (use cuticle oil and with an orange stick gently push the cuticle aside);
3) treat the nail with an antiseptic.
Cut out a small piece of silk to cover the crack. Apply the base in a thin layer, without drying it in place with a crack, apply a piece of silk, after removing the base from the material (just silk strips sell self-adhesive). Using an orange stick, adjust the piece of silk soaked in the base at the crack. Dry and file with a file.
You can also repair the nail with an acrigel. But I noticed that lately the masters have begun to abandon acrylic, the work stinks very much. The standard option will also do: gently sand the surface, cover it with ordinary gel and that's it. The main thing is that the air does not remain there. But it really takes skill.
