Now all the normal nail service masters have canceled the entries and are not accepting new clients. They do it right - health is more important than all money and a beautiful manicure. You can do this business yourself, we have plenty of free time.
Peeling off the coating is dangerous for your nails. Together with it, you remove the top layer of the nail plate, because of which the nails can hurt, there will be sensitivity and there is a great chance that the next coating will not hold on to you.
There are two ways to remove gel polish:
- Soaking with acetone
- Sawing
Never peel off the gel polish!
I do not at all welcome soaking with acetone, and I wrote about this more than once on my channel. I'll tell you briefly why:
1. Soaking unfavorably affects the nail plate and cuticle, drying them out. If you have thin and weakened nails, it is better to refuse this method of removing the coating.
2. Not all gel polishes can be removed by soaking. It is possible that in this way you may not succeed. And peeling off the coating with a pusher, you injure the nail even more, thinning it.
If you do not complain about the condition of your nails, are not afraid of this option of removing the old coating, then I will tell you step by step how to soak it.
Before starting the procedure, I advise you to contact the master and find out if the gel polish, which was used for manicure, lends itself to soaking.
To remove the old coating, gel polish we need:
- nail polish remover with acetone
- pusher or wooden sticks
- cotton pads
- foil
- nail file
- greasy cream or petroleum jelly
With a file, cut off a little the top coat (top) on all nails.
We cut the cotton pads into 4 parts so that the acetone is in contact with the cuticle and periungual rollers to a minimum. We tear the foil into squares or a rectangle.
Apply cream or petroleum jelly to the cuticles and periungual rollers to somehow protect the skin. Moisten cotton wool with acetone, apply to the coating and wrap with foil.
You need to wait 10-20 minutes, depending on the thickness of the coating and on the firm of the gel polish. After that, take turns off the foil along with the cotton wool, if the coating has been removed - congratulations, everything went smoothly for you!
Sometimes the coating needs a little help and pry it off with a pusher, but you shouldn't pry it off the nail, it's better to repeat the procedure with foil. The main thing is not to peel off the coating along with the nail, after soaking in acetone, the old coating should move well from the nail.
If coating remains, you may have had no acetone in the nail polish remover, or you may not have cut the top coat enough. If, nevertheless, part of the coating remains, carefully go through with a nail file or buff.
The most gentle option for removing the coating from nails is cutting. Yes, it takes a long time, but we seem to be in no hurry, everything is much more fun to clean while watching a favorite TV series or movie.
You will need a file-polishing file or a file of 320 or 400 grit. For removal, choose a file of 180 or 150 grit.
It seems that this is all complicated, I am telling you about some grits here... This term refers to the softness or hardness of the file. In fact, you can take any one to do everything right to the maximum. By the way, nail files are sold in supermarkets, and we are allowed to go shopping for food. So if you don't have a nail file at home, then it won't be difficult to buy one.
And then everything is extremely simple: you just need to cut, not quickly, carefully, there is nowhere to rush, do not press hard on the file and do not make chaotic movements.
Do not cut the cover completely! Leave a thin layer of the base so you don't injure the nail and it will be slightly strengthened. After the coating is removed, you can polish it with a little polisher.
