In self-isolation, I was left alone with the gel polish, which was growing treacherously and needed to be removed. I am not one of the skillful girls who can make a gel polish manicure for themselves, and braid beautiful braids, and further down the list. My hands may be golden only they do not grow from the shoulders, and everything that I take with them, for some reason, tends to break. Doing a manicure on March 1, I could not even think that everything would be so spinning, otherwise I would simply take the old one off from the master and not get involved in this adventure. I spent 4 weeks with him, which is a lot for me, because usually I do it once every 3 weeks. But then a week was spent on persuading myself.
What you need to buy to remove gel polish at home
We understand that the circumstances were against my ability to find all the best, I had to grab what was nearby. So, I had:
- gel polish remover;
- metal pusher;
- cotton pads;
- foil (ordinary food, on which the most delicious chicken turns out and the baking sheet does not need to be washed later);
- hand cream;
- pretty tough nail file.
And here they are the first mistakes. The metal pusher in my hands is a cold weapon, it would be better if they were orange sticks. And yet, I did not buy a buff, but it turned out to be very necessary, since Magnet Cosmetics is in my house, I had to leave the house. To my husband. I immediately remembered the phrase that was walking on the Internet - and you, too, go to the store who you do not mind?
How to remove gel polish at home
First you need to cut cotton pads (I cut them in half), foil. Cut the foil so that it is convenient for you to wrap your nail with the attached cotton pad.
We need to remove a small layer of varnish, someone advises to do this with a buff, someone with a nail file. If the coating is cement, as in my case, the buff is indispensable, it must be cut down properly.
Next, we lubricate the area near the nail with a cream to protect it a little, put a cotton pad abundantly moistened with gel polish remover on the nail, and wrap it all with foil. The first hand is easy to do, the second will have to be contrived, because the foil is in the way. There are special silicone caps, it is more convenient with them, but I did not have them.
We sit with foil according to the instructions of your liquid remover, I have it for 5-10 minutes, but I sat for 20. Personally, my sensations are not very pleasant, it bakes me, and it even hurts a little, because the nails wrap a little. I remembered 2016, when the master used this method, how great it is that now there are devices.
Expand 1 nail. In theory, the coating should be swept, and we took it off with an orange stick. But no matter how it is! The coating of my master is reinforced concrete, as if created for the milling cutter of the apparatus, and not for my handles. And then the fun began, 33rd episode.
First, you need to remove one nail at a time, without unrolling the foil on all nails at once. But it was difficult for me, the foil on the other fingers tried to slip off, I wanted to surrender into the hands of the master. Only her husband was at hand.
Secondly, the coating was removed tightly, I soaked my nails twice, but the essence did not change much. And it was this factor that played against my nails - in some places I overdid it, it was not clear where the base was, where my nails were already, in general, forgive the nails, I was wrong and too cruel to you.
Then I realized that I needed a buff, so I trimmed my nails. In the end, I came to the conclusion that it is better to under-shoot a little than to confirm the plate. Brilliant, huh? Resigned to the fact that it would not work out for me ideally, I simply did not become zealous in places, otherwise it would have been worse. You can throw slippers and tomatoes at me, but I don't even pretend to be a goldsmith.
Now I will actively smear my nails with oil and nail wax, they will gradually grow back. By the way, the sight of bare nails after more than one year of continuous wearing of varnish came to my liking.
