Taking a dog from a shelter is a kind, noble deed, for which they campaign, admire and support. It is difficult for many to send their own dog to a shelter, but sometimes there is simply no other way out. The return to the shelter of a once stray dog who was rescued and was home for almost a year is an SOS situation for volunteers. And a reason for a heated discussion of the outraged public. But is it necessary to be indignant if the SOS situation is with the owner himself, and this owner is a pensioner?
A difficult, controversial and controversial spring this year has been difficult for people and animals. In Western countries, shelters for homeless animals were rapidly emptied, because people who for a long time could not get a four-legged friend finally decided on furry companions. In Russia, the situation is exactly the opposite. There are more dogs and cats on the streets, and there are also more returns to shelters for a variety of reasons.
The most unpleasant thing for volunteers is when the dog is returned not after a short period, but after a long time in the family. Volunteers of the Moscow orphanage "Nekrasovka" at the end of June received a request to pick up the pet from a pensioner who last year took a cute mongrel Bianca from the orphanage.
Olga is a pensioner who has had enough time to take care of her four-legged friend. Moreover, she already had three small dogs and a cat at home. As noted by the volunteers, Olga's dream came true of her own collie. Well, or almost a collie, to which the dog of the "noble breed" is vaguely similar with its long fluffy coat.
For this reason, the volunteers had no doubts that Bianca had fallen into kind and caring hands. But the situation this year has changed a lot, and Olga, like many Russians, has shaken financial position. The pensioner distributed three dogs on her own, and Bianca decided to return to the shelter after almost a year of home life.
The volunteer received the following message from Olga:
“Natalia, hello. You will forgive me, but I have no opportunity (financially) to keep Bianca any longer. Once again, I'm sorry that it happened. "
Volunteers are upset and unhappy, because the shelter is already overcrowded, and a beautiful dog from a former homelessness has become a former home.
Bianche is looking for a new home and raising money for the resulting financial needs. The former owner keeps her at home until July.
The dog is under the care of volunteers from the Moscow shelter "Nekrasovka".
