Many girls love to paint, and some do not know the steps in the endless purchase of decorative cosmetics. They buy them over and over again, despite the fact that there are already plenty of powders, lipsticks, eyeshadows, mascaras and other makeup products in their arsenal. They do not know that it is time to stop until someone from the outside tells about it.

One of these girls, who is truly obsessed with beauty and the beauty sphere, asked in one of the communities of advice on how best to organize and store all this, but came across an unexpected reaction. She received more than a hundred comments on her post, most of which she was told that all this should be sent to the trash bin or for disposal.

The beauty lover asks for advice:

“I have a ton of makeup and creams, and I'm a makeup fan. I try to organize all this, but there are too many cosmetics, it literally attacks me. Someone can give me some advice, maybe you can share how you organize your makeup corner. "

Most of the comments were something like this:

- It seems that someone has too much money to waste.
- I've never seen so much makeup! Sorry, but you should get rid of most of these tools.
- Please stop buying so many cosmetics! Decorative cosmetics have a shelf life. It is especially dangerous to use outdated eye cosmetics. Just get rid of it!

But the girl had her own opinion. Most of what is stored on her shelves is not just cosmetics, but limited edition brands that are sold in limited editions, therefore, they can no longer be bought.

She replied to the advisers:

“I can't throw it away! It's not a problem to throw away clothes, shoes, other things. But not decorative cosmetics! Limited editions of brands are stored in these boxes. This is my collection! "

By the way, about the limits. Those who advised to get rid of cosmetics were right, because every product has its own expiration date, and using expired cosmetics can be fraught with health.

Shelf life of cosmetics

Eyeliner: from 6 months (for liquid and gel) to 1 year (for pencil)
Mascara: 3-6 months
Blush, eyeshadow, and other powdery cosmetics: 1-2 years
Foundations: from 6 months to 2 years
Pomade: up to 2 years
Creams, lotions: 3-6-12 months (depending on the composition)

Dry and powdery cosmetics are safer and have a longer shelf life than liquid, gel, and fat-based cosmetics. The less contact of the product in the tube with the skin, the better.

Changes in the color, smell and texture of cosmetics are a sure sign of an expired date. You cannot save and try to save what has become unsafe.
