Tomatoes with cabbage in one jar is an interesting appetizer for the winter, which will be the perfect addition to any dish. Can be served with mashed potatoes, meat and any crumbly porridge. The cabbage in this recipe remains crispy and juicy, it is impregnated with the taste of the marinade and related ingredients, and you get an incredibly tasty dish, and even healthy, because all the vitamins are in a jar persist. It is known that cabbage contains a lot of vitamin C; if it is cooked correctly, you can get a delicious dish with a minimum of loss of vitamins.
Cabbage with tomatoes can also become a separate dish on the table. It is only important to take special pickled tomatoes and late varieties of cabbage for canning!
Cabbage with tomatoes in a jar
Preparing a vegetable snack for the winter is best done with medium-sized tomatoes. The form does not matter, it's a matter of taste. You can take plum tomatoes, round, round-flat. And the cabbage should be of late varieties with leaves tightly attached to the head of cabbage. I always take Bulgarian pepper only seasonal from the garden, and not the waxy and beautiful one that can be purchased in the store.
Recipe for cabbage with tomatoes for the winter
You will need:
- tomatoes;
- cabbage;
- onion - 1 piece;
- Bulgarian pepper - 1 piece;
- hot pepper to taste;
- lavrushka - 1 piece;
- allspice peas - 3 pieces;
- black peppercorns - 6 pieces;
- parsley - half a bunch;
- dill - half a bunch.
For the marinade you will need:
- water - 1.5 liters;
- vinegar 9% - 4 tablespoons;
- salt - 2 tablespoons;
- sugar - 4 tablespoons.
How to cook:
First, prepare all the vegetables. Remove dirty and rotten leaves from cabbage, cut off dense areas better.
Again, I give you the choice. Cabbage can be either grated or finely chopped. I like chopped more, because the grater turns out too fine porridge. Peel and chop the bell peppers and onions. Place all of the ingredients listed for the marinade in a saucepan and heat. As soon as the water boils, remove the marinade from the heat.
The jar must first be washed with soda, and then sterilized for 10-15 minutes over steam. Next, put all the spices and parsley with dill on the bottom of the jar. Put tomatoes in one layer, then chopped vegetables, including cabbage, and then tomatoes again, and so on.
Fill a jar full of vegetables with hot marinade, cover with a lid and set to sterilize for 15 minutes. Roll up the jar, make sure to make it tight. Turn upside down, cover with a blanket and leave to cool completely.
That's it, your canned crispy cabbage with tomatoes is ready for the winter! Agree, there are no difficulties in the recipe, but the result is simply amazing and exceeds all expectations! Now you can not only enjoy an amazing snack in winter, but also get an excellent serving of vitamins even in the cold season.
It remains only to wish everyone in advance a bon appetit!
