Today, cucumbers are a vegetable that every self-respecting summer resident should grow. It is noteworthy that a somewhat remarkable situation has developed in Russia: throughout the world, the first place in planted areas on greenhouses is tomato, but in our country it is a cucumber. Perhaps this is due to some Russian traditions.
Cucumber is one of the most ancient vegetables, about which there are references six thousand years before the birth of Christ. He came to us from the southern forests of India, where even today he can be found in natural conditions. There he twines around the tree trunks like a vine.
Some believe that it appeared in Russia around the 16th century, but this is not the case. There is convincing evidence that they knew about him in Russia back in the 9th century.
When Tsar Peter I issued a decree to organize special farms throughout the country for growing cucumbers, many people already had it on their tables. By the way, according to the testimony of those foreigners who came to Russia at that time, cucumber grew better here than in Europe. And it was in Russia that they began to grow it for the first time on protected ground.
Today, almost everyone grows this culture in his country house. In fact, a cucumber is unpretentious if done correctly, and the harvest can be very large.
In order for everything conceived to come true and to get a crop that you can be proud of, you need to use top dressing. Experienced gardeners will not let the experienced gardeners lie here that if you carry out a thorough feeding during the flowering period, then the cucumbers will be of excellent quality, strong and very tasty.
To achieve a great result, you just need to follow the simple tricks that I use.
I am a supporter of a healthy lifestyle, so I try to use chemistry as little as possible, I put more emphasis on organic matter. Chemistry is so complete in our life, why else should we use it here, if natural substances can replace them?
For feeding cucumbers during the flowering period, I use an infusion of bird droppings, it seems to me that there simply cannot be a better remedy. The preparation of such a top dressing is quite simple - you should insist bird droppings in a proportion of 1 to 15 water for two weeks. By the way, you can use mullein for cooking.
The resulting infusion should be used in an amount of one liter per plant bush.
Also, it seems to me that for some reason everyone simply forgot about boric acid and simple potassium permanganate. These substances have always significantly increased the yield. It is even easier to prepare such a top dressing: you should dilute five grams of boric acid in 10 liters of water and add 10 crystals of potassium permanganate. By the way, I recently learned that you can add 50 grams of regular sugar here. It will attract pollinating insects to the plants, which, of course, will affect the yield in the end.
Simple yeast can be another popular and effective top dressing. The whole thing is prepared like this: 10 grams of yeast is added to 10 liters of water. That's all, success!
