This week in the British journal The Lancet published an article about the menstrual cup and their use worldwide. There was an interesting approach to menstrual cups in poorer countries.
Write that now all over the world, about 1.9 billion menstruating women, who on average 65 days require appropriate care products a year. If they do not have access to adequate facilities, then there are all sorts of problems associated primarily with the leaks.
They write that the girls, who were not lucky, can tease, harass them, there will be problems with the school and education in general. And the bad gasket is an infection and so on. Thus the need for the cup. It is said that they may well be use in poorer countries and in resource-limited settings. Assert that cleaning of the bowl is not a problem, even with the lack of water. Given the fact that the cup is theoretically possible to use up to 10 years, it will pay off quickly and will be profitable.
Pro Bowls little knowledge. It is difficult to say exactly how many women and how often they are used. In some countries it is impossible to trace the manufacturer of hygiene products. This article does not take into account data from Russia and China (and there are many women). Plus some women deceived doctors, because regular use of the bowls can be evaluated by changing their color, and sometimes does not correspond to one another.
In my opinion, stories about the fact that women in poorer countries without the bowls do not receive education, and subjected to violence, such as far-fetched and even wildly. In any case, a good thing and it seems that it is time to carry out explanatory work among adolescents in those same countries.
That same article.
