It would seem, not so long ago dreamed of parents to their child learn to be a lawyer or a financier, but now the situation has changed. Analysts, futurists say that very soon will be the priority of any other profession. And 60% of current students and all master the profession, which is not yet taught in any university.
Editorial Kolobok.ua I understand what the profession will be needed in the very near future, and where to get them here in Ukraine. We started with a specialty called biomedical engineering.
What is Biomedical Engineering? Of great importance at the beginning of the third millennium acquired computer technology and life sciences. Recent relevant not only in the field of health, agriculture, pharmaceuticals and genetics. In this case, it is a fundamentally new developments that need specialists with knowledge of both biologists, physicians, chemists, genetics, IT-specialists and engineers.
Bioengineering and Bioinformatics - promising areas of science that emerged at the junction of genetic engineering, biology, biophysics, and the latest computer technology.
The task of future professionals is to work with living systems based on the application in practice of advanced technologies in order to solve medical problems. Bioengineers are actively involved in the development of new devices, equipment, procedures, based on multidisciplinary knowledge.
Where can I go to work? The interests of the future specialist is very broad - from the development of genetically modified organisms to create artificial organs to replace lost. Among the most significant developments of bioengineering it is already worth mentioning the development of magnetic resonance imaging, angioplasty, artificial joints, pacemakers, arthroscopy, kidney dialysis, heart-lung machine, bioengineered prostheses skin.
The bioengineering tasks include synthesis biocatalysts, development of new drugs, microorganisms construction of waste disposal and the like. D. In our time, the synthesis of the living and artificial becomes just unreal form. Scientists say that in the near future there will be adjacent to the medical profession, which previously we could read except in fiction stories: for example, the designer of the human body, creating bioprosthesis and organs, designer synthetic proteins designed to solve the problem of hunger in a world of biomechanics which will "treat" cyborgs, as well as repair the bioprosthesis, telesurgery, conducting operations using robotic installations, the selection of a consultant genetic traits, personal manager microflora by "unloading" the expert intelligence that can create backups of the brain to the other media. While all this sounds surprising, it is gradually becoming a reality.
Where to go to learn? If your child has decided to master the future of the profession, he did not have to fly to distant lands: it can, for example, enter one of the respected metropolitan universities - National Technical University of Ukraine "KPI" them. Sikorski. Faculty of Biomedical Engineering is the youngest - was founded in 2002 by a joint agreement of NTU "KPI" and the National Medical University. Bogomolets. Here prepare specialists in four areas: biomedical engineering; computer science; instrumentation; human health. Also taught Masters in the following areas: information management systems and technology; medical devices and systems.
At the Faculty of students trained about 130 professionals, including prominent scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
European Higher Education Area. By the way, the importance and potential of the work of the Faculty appreciated abroad. Proof of this is the fact that he received support from the European Union program for the modernization of higher education systems in partner countries. TEMPUS - a program that promotes the voluntary convergence with EU developments in higher education deriving from the Lisbon strategy to increase jobs and growth, as well as the Bologna Process to create a European space of higher education.
The program is based on the realization that universities play a particularly important role in the process of social and economic and cultural development; they are the reserve of specialized knowledge and human resources, provide for the training of new generations of political leaders.
Currently on the faculty trained 700 students who have the opportunity to undergo practical training at leading medical institutions and industrial enterprises in Ukraine and abroad.
