Students will be extended the school year to compensate for the time lost due to quarantine.
The new law "On secondary education" contains a norm that provides for the extension of educational years for the time that the children were forced to spend in quarantine.
This was announced by the people's deputy and initiator of amendments in the field of secondary education Yulia Grishina.
According to her, the current law provides for clear boundaries of the academic year, students return to their desks on September 1, and finish their studies no later than June 1. The length of the school day and breaks in study and work, for example, on Saturdays, are regulated by the administration of a particular school.
Now we will prescribe separately in the legislation that the organization of the educational process should not lead to an overload of students.If the children have been at home in quarantine for several weeks, they will not be able to catch up with the program in comfortable conditions. In this regard, another amendment was made to the law, which establishes not the mandatory start and end dates of training, but the number of mandatory training days.
Today, a student studies 175 days a year, these days are not counted in quarantine. The new law obliges educational institutions to extend the educational process in order to gain these same 175 days.
