Eating junk food in infancy reduces the IQ scores. A balanced diet, on the contrary, a positive effect on intellectual development of the baby, according to Australian researchers from the University of Adelaide's public health.

Scientists have studied the relationship between diet 6-, 15-month-old and 2-year-olds from the indicators of their IQ at age eight. In total, the experiment involved 7000 children. It turned out that those who are fed breast milk at 6 months and vegetables, cheese, fruit, legumes 15 and 24 months to 8 years had IQ scores 2 points higher than kids who ate biscuits, chocolate, soda and crisps.
