On the eve of the New Year and Christmas holidays, royal families in countries with a monarchical form of government traditionally issue official holiday cards. These cards will be given to everyone who has decided to wish the rulers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year this year. To do this, all you had to do was write a letter to the address of the royal residence, and in return you receive a photo with the image of the members of the royal family.

Duke and Duchess of Cambridge

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge often delight their fans with family photos. Many of the photos Kate Middleton does it herself. But for a Christmas card, the royal couple chose a joint photo: the picture with which Prince William and his wife congratulated their fans was taken while on vacation in Jordan. The postcard turned out to be very cute, and it exudes family warmth from it. True, many did not have enough winter mood for her - after all, on New Year's Eve, the photo should be more elegant.

Duke and Duchess of Sussex

More recently, the network appeared the first photo of the youngest daughter of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Lilibet Diana. Fans immediately suggested that this is a frame from the Christmas photo shoot of the Dukes of Sussex. However, on the postcard the family posted a couple of weeks later, Lily Dee looks younger. Most likely, this gentle and touching family photo was taken in the fall, when the girl was several months old. As in the case of the Dukes of Cambridge, many did not find this shot too festive. But he emphasizes the value of the family in the best way possible.

Prince and Princess of Wales

The eldest son of Elizabeth II, Prince of Wales Charles, shared a postcard on the topic of the day with his subjects. In the photo, he, wearing a protective mask, helps his wife, Princess Camilla, to put on the same mask on her face. The photo ran into criticism: many are perplexed as to why such a non-solemn frame was chosen. Perhaps, in this way, Charles and Camilla wanted to draw the attention of the British to the need to observe quarantine even on holidays.

Earl and Countess of Wessex

Also puzzling was a postcard from the Earl and Countess of Wessex. For congratulations, Prince Edward and Countess Sophie chose a photo in which they stand without children, and even at a decent distance from each other.

Royal family of the Netherlands

Whose postcard can definitely be called festive and solemn, it is the royal family of the Netherlands. The photograph shows King Willem-Alexander, Queen Maxima and Princess Catherine Amalia, Alexia and Ariana posing in the luxurious interior of their palace in The Hague. The king stands in the center in a smart suit, and the ladies - in evening dresses, with festive make-up and hairstyles. The dogs add warmth and comfort to the official photo: two black Labradors are sitting in the foreground, and Queen Maxima is holding a small puppy in her arms.

Royal family of Norway

The postcard of the Royal family of Norway also blows a New Year's spirit. Next to her father is the eldest daughter, 20-year-old Princess Elizabeth, and 18-year-old Prince Gabriel. A family photo from the royal couple of Spain can also be attributed with a stretch to holiday cards. On it, King Philip VI and Queen Letizia pose with their daughters, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sophia. The shot was taken in the summer garden of the Zarzuela Palace, the official residence of the royal family in Madrid.

Princely family of Monaco

The Prince and Princess of Monaco this year abandoned photography and congratulated their subjects with a drawn postcard. Most likely, this decision was made because Princess Charlene of Monaco is still in the clinic for treatment and cannot be photographed. Nevertheless, the postcard turned out to be truly festive and beautiful: on it, Prince Albert II, Charlene and their two children are standing against the background of a decorated Christmas tree with gifts.
