Everyone should read this story before seeing a doctor.
I am asked a lot of questions, why am I not administering appointments online? I'll tell you one story.
I always examine my patients very carefully, I feel the skin with my fingers. Because it's important to understand how smooth and tough it is. The strength of the skin is testosterone. Collagen, synthesis of all these proteins, etc. And smoothness, silkiness are estrogens.
Patient story: examination saved from fatal illness
Not so long ago a young man came to me complaining that swinging in the gym, but the muscles still do not grow. He had a very bright and dense color tattoo on his chest, his natural skin color was not visible at all.
At the same time, the skin was very smooth, at some point during the examination, I involuntarily touched my cheek to compare. In my best years, I didn't have such smooth skin.
- Are you doing something to yourself? Is it some kind of lapping, is it some kind of special care? I asked.
He speaks nervously - no, I don't do anything special, I just take a shower every day.
But the shower doesn't work that way.
And I began to examine it even more closely. Especially the tattoo haunted. The chest underneath was strange, very flat, not even a hint of excess adipose tissue deposition, right now, absolutely skin and muscles, no layer.
The patient was already seriously nervous, even trying to throw my hand away.
And when he was already completely on the edge of emotions, I saw, or rather, felt more with my fingers, a scar.
I'm talking: was there genicomastia, did you have your breasts removed?
And then he burst out with such an angry speech that this surgeon was paid so much money that no one could notice, but everything, it turns out, was in vain.
Yes, he says, I removed all this fatty and glandular tissue and got a tattoo so that no one could even see the signs.
Then I looked at the tests, estrogens were higher than they should - not much, but higher. Testosterone was perfectly fine.
- Where is the pelvic ultrasound? - I ask.
He said - I forgot him at home, everything is all right there.
I said - it doesn’t suit me. Until I see all the results, I will not make any appointments. I'd rather not deal with you at all than not check something. Let's do this: a good doctor is sitting in the next office, go get an ultrasound scan. If everything is in order there, you don't even have to pay for it.
They went to the uzist and disappeared. Half an hour later I started knocking and went in. Sits a pale, completely bewildered young man, and the doctor says he has bladder cancer in its early stages.
The guy was operated on, now he is recovering. He sent me his previous ultrasound - there were signs of illness, but nothing was reflected in the description. Why that doctor did not see him is unknown.
What is the problem with "internet scans"
If I consulted a young man remotely, I would not have found any seams from the intervention and abnormally smooth skin, respectively, would not know that he has hormonal abnormalities and there is penchant for oncologythat could get out at any moment.
Here we are already talking about life and death, and any prescription of drugs "for muscle growth" can greatly complicate the situation.
That is why I am categorically against the "treatment on the Internet." The doctor must see and know his patients.
