When will the winter holidays begin in Ukrainian schools? How long are schoolchildren supposed to rest in winter? Will the winter break be postponed due to the quarantine?
Despite the tightening of quarantine restrictions, life in Ukraine continues. In two years, people have come to terms with the coronavirus and even learned to make plans in a new way. Now Ukrainians are busy booking holidays for the New Year holidays. True, not so much abroad as native Carpathians. By new rules, resorts will be able to receive vacationers even in the red zone: if you have a "green" vaccination passport. So vaccinated parents will have to adjust the vacation only to the school vacation schedule.
The dates of the winter holidays, approved by the Ministry of Education, this year are advisory in nature. This means that schools can send students on vacation at their discretion, focusing on the epidemiological situation in a particular region. On the recommendation of the Ministry of Education and Science, it is better for schoolchildren to rest in the winter of 2021-2022 on such days:
from December 25, 2021 to January 9, 2022 inclusive
At the same time, schools have the right to adjust the teaching schedule, shift and extend vacations. For example, in the last "winter season" because of the lockdown, the schoolchildren "drew" an unexpected additional rest. Recall that in January 2021, the children had a rest for almost a month: schools opened only on the 25th.
It is difficult to predict what the situation will be this year. After all, due to the introduction of the red zone in many regions of the country, schoolchildren have extended their autumn holidays. For example, Kiev has already announced that schools will open no earlier than November 8. Taking into account the fact that the holidays began on October 25, the pupils will have a rest for two instead of the prescribed one week.
Perhaps these days will then have to be worked out, but clearly not to the detriment of the New Year holidays, experts say. Most likely, they will try to "fit" the missed week into the curriculum without transferring, or they will extend the training with the capture of the summer week. So, parents should plan their winter holidays taking into account the recommended dates of the Ministry of Education and Science.
