Black Friday 2021: when will it be in Ukraine?
Black Friday falls on the last week of November / istockphoto.com
The tradition of organizing Black Friday came to us from America. In the United States, this day is held annually after the biggest holiday for Americans - Thanksgiving Day, which is celebrated on the last Thursday in November. Accordingly, Black Friday falls on the last Friday of November every year. This year the total sale starts on the 26th.
The most favorite season for Americans begins with Black Friday - the period of Christmas discounts. However, it is on Black Friday that goods can be bought at a fantastically low price (sometimes for 10% of the initial cost). So many working residents of the United States are trying to take a day off for Friday in advance in order to fully devote themselves to profitable shopping. However, due to the colossal demand from buyers, Black Friday has long been "stretched" for three days: sales in America lasts all weekend and ends on Cyber Monday, when the prices of the remaining goods may be even lower than in Friday.
In Ukraine, the tradition of holding Black Friday has taken root since 2013. And sales in our country start "in unison" with the American ones. The stores will offer the biggest discounts to their customers on Friday, November 26th. Good prices will hold up over the weekend, November 27-28, and shopping can be finished on Cyber Monday, November 29. By the way, earlier the prefix "cyber" hinted that on Monday discounts in stores are moving from offline to online: supposedly the most profitable thing is to shop on the Internet on this day. However, this is no longer the case, and moreover, especially on Cyber Monday, many offline stores are preparing very lucrative offers for Ukrainians.
What discounts will there be in children's stores?
Many stores are preparing for Black Friday from the beginning of autumn. Advertising about the start of sales is already in full swing on the Internet. True, not all sellers have yet decided on the size of the discounts, but we can say that there will be an opportunity to save from 30 to 80% for children's goods. Black Friday: how not to waste away at zero?
There are tons of rash shopping to be had on Black Friday / istockphoto.com
The hype that the stores are generating around Black Friday often leads people to rash and impulsive purchases. Few can resist the temptation to buy something 80% cheaper, even if it is not needed in principle. As a result, Black Friday is considered by many to be the worst day for new acquisitions. Firstly, because of the artificial increase in demand, and secondly, because of tricks to increase salesused by many sellers.
Trick 1. Artificially inflating prices
In the United States, stores rarely resort to such a trick, so as not to lose credibility with customers. However, in our country, this is still one of the most common tricks. About a month before "X-hour", the seller starts to gradually raise prices for the most popular goods in order to drop them just by the amount of the overstatement on Black Friday.
In order not to fall for this trick, start monitoring the cost of the product that you need right now. Remember its price today and note how it will change every week.
Trick 2. Unnecessary gifts
The main task of sellers on Black Friday is not to make buyers happy, but to sell stale goods that are poorly in demand. It will have the biggest discounts, and it will often be offered as a gift for an expensive purchase. As a result, you can buy not what you wanted - and spend more just to get the "bonus" you do not need.
To avoid this, set a clear budget that you are willing to spend on this or that thing. If "purchase + gift" fits into this cost - great. If not, we pass by.
Trick 3. Quantity rate
Another way to sell stale goods is to offer them to buyers according to the "1 + 1 = 3" scheme. It always works, because everyone wants to "pay less and get more." The trick is that strictly defined positions are always included in this scheme: that is, the buyer cannot choose all three goods at his own discretion. As a result, we buy not one, but three things, two of which were skillfully "paired" by marketers.
In order not to buy too much, make a list of purchases that you plan to do on Black Friday in advance. Psychologists advise passing two lists: required and desired acquisitions. For example, on the must-have list, a TV, and on the wish-list, a toaster and multicooker. In this case, you can always stop yourself: for example, if you are offered to buy a printer in addition to the TV and get an electric kettle as a gift.
Trick 4. Artificial panic
One of the main messages of Black Friday is that cheap goods run out very quickly. On this wave, many people row everything just because "the stock of goods is limited." If the desired item is sold out, then you urgently need to look for an alternative: a couple more hours, and it will be swept off the shelves in the same way. At the same time, in the excitement of the "buying race", few people pay attention to the fact that the alternative can be much more expensive than what you planned to buy.
Keep your shopping list in front of you to avoid the hype. Remember your purchase budget and resist the temptation to borrow goods. And most importantly, if the necessary thing is "taken away from under the nose" - do not despair. Manufacturing plants do not close after Black Friday. In addition, there will be a season of pre-New Year and Christmas discounts ahead, during which you can save no less than Black Friday.
