Beauty injections and other cosmetic procedures, including eyebrows, sometimes have their negative consequences. Even laser resurfacing and scar excision are contraindicated. Find out when!
Tattooing, mesotherapy, beauty injections - in the modern world there are many procedures that help a woman look better. Demand creates supply: beauty salons and beauty centers that offer such services are now on every corner. Unfortunately, specialists do not always work there. And as a result of the "beauty visit" a woman often gets the opposite effect.
An illiterate service can lead to consequences that will have to be treated for almost a lifetime. What should not be done in order not to become a patient of a dermatologist after cosmetic procedures? A dermatologist, Doctor of Medical Sciences, founder of Professor Svyatenko's Centers for Dermatology and Cosmetology told about the most common mistakes in cosmetology on the medical vlog "HIT-FAKAP" Tatiana Svyatenko.
Treating warts
Flat warts cannot be removed by diathermocoagulation / open sources
Warts do not appear on the human body because of frogs. Their occurrence is provoked by HPV, or the human papillomavirus. In fact, this is a large family of viruses: now medicine knows about 100 types, and each gives its own manifestations on the skin or mucous membranes. Most often, these are indeed warts, which are usually suggested to be removed using coagulation. But warts are different, and this technique is not always suitable.
“In this case, the client had flat warts,” says Tatiana Svyatenko. - This is a special species that categorically does not accept excessive aggression. We see that after diathermocoagulation, a scar with viral activity began to form in each element. Why it happens? For any viral process on the skin, a syndrome such as splashing is characteristic. In response to aggressive removal, the virus splattered and we got new lesions. This is the wrong choice of method for removing warts. "
Granulomas after beauty injections
Not all cosmetic procedures are combined with each other / open sources
At the heart of most of the problems that clients have after cosmetic procedures are the interaction of these very procedures with each other. “A woman turned to us for help with complaints of seals on her face, the appearance of which she could not associate with,” says Tatiana Svyatenko. - It turned out that many years ago she injected silicone preparations in her face as fillers. Years later, she decided to do a thread lift, or thread lift, but at the same time kept silent about the previous procedures. However, here it must be remembered that earlier in cosmetology biopolymer gels and silicone preparations were actively used. Biopolymer gels do not dissolve, silicone preparations cannot be completely removed from the human body. The threads "pierced" the silicone, which remained under the client's skin, and granulomas or accumulations of foreign bodies formed on the face. "
This is a mistake of both the cosmetologist and the client, emphasizes Tatiana Svyatenko. The master did not collect a "cosmetological anamnesis" and did not figure out whether it is possible to do thread lifting, taking into account the previous intervention in the client's skin. And the client did not inform about the previous procedures, which must be done without fail. After all, there are procedures that are simply not compatible with each other.
Granulomas after tattooing
A popular cosmetic service such as lip and eyebrow tattooing can also cause the formation of granulomas. Moreover, they can appear 10-14 days after the procedure, or they can form after a few years. It is difficult to guess when and what will provoke their occurrence. For example, in this case, accumulations of foreign bodies (paint that remained in the skin) appeared five years after tattooing, and were caused by hypothermia.
The treatment here will be long and two-component. “Curettage (point removal of each granuloma) and systemic administration of corticosteroid hormones, which will relieve inflammation, will help,” says Tatiana Svyatenko.
Keloid scar treatment
Keloid scars only get bigger after resurfacing / open sources
Laser resurfacing or surgical removal of keloid scars is one of the gross mistakes in cosmetology and plastic surgery. “Keloid scars cannot be excised, sanded or smoothed out with peeling,” emphasizes Tatiana Svyatenko. "They will respond to any aggressive impact with the same aggression, show rapid growth and increase in size."
If you want to get rid of scars, you need to know that they are of two types: physiological and pathological. Physiological scars can be atrophic (with sinking into the skin), normotrophic (at the skin level) and hypertrophic (with protrusion above the skin). But they all have an important feature: they ripen within a year after injury, brighten and do not increase in size. With such scars, manipulations can be performed to remove them after they have fully matured.
Pathological or keloid scars do not brighten. “Throughout life, they retain a cyanotic-red color, can bother with itching or painful sensations, and the main difference is that they go beyond the previous defect. For example, there was a 3 cm surgical incision, and the scar may be 8 cm, ”explains Tatiana Svyatenko. Such scars need to be treated with medication and only under the supervision of a doctor.
Acne treatment with mesotherapy
Mesotherapy for purulent rashes can only harm / open sources
Mesotherapy for acne and purulent formations on the face is a very popular service today. There is a whole category of doctors who offer the client to inject into the pustule (formation with purulent contents) any vitamin or anti-inflammatory complex. Unfortunately, this often leads to disastrous consequences, which need to be treated with massive antibiotic therapy.
Even medical students know that trauma to purulent elements does not lead to anything good, notes Tatiana Svyatenko. Especially if it is accompanied by the introduction of drugs into the purulent cavity. “There are cells in the body that are responsible for the spread of pus,” explains the expert. - If you add liquid to the pus, melting occurs and the pus becomes larger. In some cases, this can lead to the development of sepsis, a systemic and extensive inflammatory response. Therefore, remember that after mesotherapy in pustules there is a risk of being in intensive care. "
