It may very well be. A couple of years ago, there was such an article about bald mice who were fed the "Western diet". Well, that is, fat.
Everything there was tied to ceramides. Remember ceramides from the care advertisements? They should strengthen either the skin or the hair. They are often called ceramides.
These are fat-like substances that our body uses in different ways. And in one of the ways, ceramides support the lipid layer on our skin.
That is, the stratum corneum on our skin is not just rough and dry, but covered with fats. There is cholesterol, ceramides, and much more. This is a useful protective film.
And if you overeat with fat, then these very fats in the skin will become more. We will shine from fat like dogs or cats.
Only it turned out that excess fat makes not only useful ceramides appear, but also harmful ones. We have already discussed harmful ceramides in kidney fat article. It seems that these ceramides are becoming fashionable, and in a negative way.
So, excess fat in the skin leads to the formation of a harmful type of ceramides, which maintains inflammation in the skin. And inflammation leads to the fact that the skin does not hold on to the hair, and they fall out.
It turns out that, at least in mice, oily food leads to baldness. And so close to people.
Where else are ceramides added?
