The doctor - about "quick" cereals, "balls" and "stars"
I was asked: if eating in the morning is as important as I say, maybe then it is worth turning your attention to quick breakfasts?
Alas, people who eat quick breakfasts are in for a few troubles.
🍩 Porridge themselves are useful, of course, if you do not use them in off-scale quantities. They contain many useful trace elements, vitamins and minerals, in addition to complex carbohydrates, which are also important.
The trouble with quick breakfasts is that they contain instant cereals that have already been processed industrially. Processed cereals are not as beneficial as cooked from natural grains. I would advise Avoid "fast" porridge.
Also, during the preparation of ordinary porridge, you yourself can control the degree of boiling of the grain, without turning everything into a mucus-like substance and preserving as many vitamins as possible.
🍩 Different kinds "Balls", "stars" are also far from ideal for nutrition, especially for children. They are bad in that they do not require chewing, and digestion, as you know, begins in the mouth. Without good chewing, our gastrointestinal tract will suffer.
🍩 Quick breakfasts are mainly fast carbohydrates. If you look at the composition of the "balls", there will be sugar, flour, starch, a lot of all flavor enhancers, flavorings, emulsifiers. These are only fast-digesting carbohydrates, high glycemic index, high glycemic load and, accordingly, increased insulin levels, which does not bode well.
All these ingredients are ground into powder, then pressed to give a certain shape. This technological process is called extrusion - grind, rub, then compress. Agree, this can hardly be called a useful way of cooking, especially given the fact that high-calorie substances are often used as a "glue".
Even if you fill the balls with milk (although I foe of milk), then the obtained protein will not be enough for the growing organism. And if you use juice or water, then you won't get any protein at all.
🍩 Muesli also better viewed as a dessert rather than a staple meal. They are also high in carbohydrates, and this is a high glycemic index and a load on the pancreas. In cheap versions, instead of candied fruits, there are some gelatin-based imitations.
🍩 There is one more unpleasant moment: "Quick breakfasts" began to be given to children as a confectionery pleasure. They watch TV and chew it. This is a very bad story, the formation of a reflex: a person unconsciously consumes a large number of calories and psychologically connects two pleasures - eating sweets and watching an interesting movie.
🍩 As a result, this vicious circle is closed, from which they are now trying to get out two billion people with dangerous obesity.
