The Indian strain "Delta" is already in Ukraine. Its peculiarity is that it does not spare young people and children. Dr. Komarovsky gave advice to parents on how to protect children from Delta
The pediatrician first of all drew attention to the fact that children do not need to communicate with strangers, and parents no need to drive babies to places where there is a crowd of people and where, accordingly, there is a high risk get infected. For example, you should not take your child to shopping in supermarkets or take him to shopping and entertainment centers.
Wash your hands - the rule is simple but effective
"In general, if there is the least doubt about the quality of ventilation in the room where you are going to go with your child, it is better not to go there. And since masks are categorically not recommended for children under 5 years old, all these conversations that we constantly have - about the infectious dose, draft, training and communication in the fresh air, minimization of contacts - especially for them relevant ",- says the expert.
Komarovsky also added that the biggest danger is the amount of infection dose that a child can receive. At the same time, he drew attention to the fact that now there is no scientific work that would confirm that children have a more severe coronavirus caused by "Delta".
“For the delta option and children, we're back to basics - the infectious dose. Because the peculiarity of the delta variant lies in the fact that, obviously, it causes disease at a lower infectious dose. But there is no verified information that the Delta virus causes a more severe course of the disease in children. But it should be remembered that the severity of the disease is always associated with the infectious dose. It turns out that theoretically the delta-coronavirus can cause a more severe course of the disease simply because fewer viral particles are needed for the disease to occur, "- said the pediatrician.
