Previously, people with diabetes or after a stroke could raise their blood pressure within a wide range with impunity. But literally in June 2021, it became known that now they can pay for it.
This is a scientific study by SPRINT, the results of which were recently made available to the general public.
So the published results clearly indicate that people with a high risk of heart and vascular diseases will have to huddle in a very narrow range of blood pressure values.
The upper blood pressure allowed for them will be limited to 125 - 130 millimeters of mercury. The lower blood pressure allowed for use among this category of citizens will be limited to 80 (also in millimeters of mercury). Below - you can. Above - no longer.
The worst thing is that this narrow range of 125 - 130 millimeters is recommended for the most lazy and harmful patients who only measure their blood pressure with a doctor.
For those who are more compliant and correct, who measure their homes themselves and many times, the norms will be even stricter. They will have to tamp themselves into a range of 120 to 125 millimeters of mercury.
Such strict measures were chosen because the pressure at home is always lower.
Who was ranked as high-risk people
- those who have already grunt a stroke or heart attack, or those who have clogged arteries in their legs;
- with diabetes mellitus;
- heart failure patients;
- with chronic kidney disease;
- over 65;
- those who have a 10-year risk of having a stroke or heart attack already 10% or more.
The rest of the lucky ones were allowed to maintain the upper pressure in the range of 130 - 139 millimeters of mercury, and lower below 90 when measured at an appointment with an evil cardiologist, or 125 - 135 and below 90 in a calm home setting.
Do you think this is funny? No. The SPRINT study lasted a little over three years. It was completed ahead of schedule, because people with low blood pressure died much less often. No one further checked, because it was unethical.
