How to get to the Kinburn spit
"Sharp nose" - this is how the Tatar name of the Kinburn Spit is translated - Kyl-Burun. She really reminds him. This narrow patch of land in the western part of the Kinburn Peninsula can be accessed in two ways.
The first one - by boat from Ochakov or by "Raket" from Nikolaev. Navigation will begin in mid-June.
On the spit you will change to the "Ural", which delivers on recreation centers. There is also a local taxi.
The second option is from the Kherson region, on an off-road vehicle. The other car simply won't pass.

Where to live on the Kinburn Spit
On the territory of the spit there are only three settlements and the National Park "Beloberezhye Svyatoslav". In the park, you can only stay in tents, in recreational centers, which occupy an area of 2 hectares. Each point can accept no more than 150 people. To reserve a place for yourself, you need to call the phones listed on the website of the National Park.
As for recreation in settlements, you can rent both a room in a private house and a room in a hotel. But you need to understand that even from the village of Pokrovka, closest to the sea, you will need to walk to the beach for at least 20 minutes.

Unpleasant surprises: cold currents and jellyfish

So in a 40-degree heat, the sea temperature can be 9-10 degrees. It also happens that a large number of jellyfish or nail algae. What are the beaches on the Kinburn Spit

There is a good beach line along the spit. The sea near the coast is deep enough, but the entry into it is shallow. The bottom is sandy, without stones, cliffs. For children, the best option is the Yagorlytsky Bay on the Kinburn Peninsula: there is shallow water, which warms up well, the purest water.
In no case should you swim at the end of the spit, on the Strelka. There the Dnieper-Bug estuary flows into the Black Sea, because of this strong unpredictable currents, and many people die.
Also, on the spit, you need to swim in the sea in strictly designated places. The bottom of the sea was examined in them, it was cleared of metal, rods and shells. There are sunken ships in the area of the spit, and every year several dozen bombs and shells are removed from the water.

How medical care is organized
Poisonous snakes and karakurt are found on the spit. In the first half of summer - a lot mosquito. There are rays in the water that can prick. With all this, medical care is very poorly organized here. There are only two feldsher-obstetric points. One is in Vasilyevka, the other is in the village of Pokrovskoe. In recreational centers, of course, there are telephones where to go for medical help. But you need to understand that it will not be urgent, since there are no medical posts on the shore. In urgent cases, boats are called from Ochakov, and they are already delivering the victim to the mainland.
Therefore, firstly, here you need to follow the rules of safe behavior in nature as much as possible. Secondly, take with you a well-equipped first aid kit.
