The weather has finally improved, and the weekend promises us a real May heat. It is a real crime to stay at home with children on such days. Moreover, Kiev offers a lot of entertainment for every taste, from hot air balloon flights to children's agility and endurance competitions. The little ones will love the new premiere at the puppet theater, and the flower lovers will have a good time to admire the tulips in Dobroparka. All-Ukrainian Bicycle Day

Fans of outdoor activities will be interested in all families to take part in the annual all-Ukrainian action Cycle Day. Usually it is held on the last weekend of May, but this year, in honor of the 15th anniversary of the bicycle parade, it was decided to postpone it to earlier dates. On Saturday, May 15, thousands of cyclists will gather on the Sofia square of the capital to start a joint bike ride along the streets of Kiev from there. Both adults and children can take part in the race. And not only on bicycles, but also on scooters, gyroboards, gyroscooters, rollers and any other types of ecological transport. The race is being held for a reason: the organizers of the action thus want to draw the attention of the Kiev authorities to the problems of arranging routes for LPT (light personal transport). One of the goals of the Bicycle Day is to achieve the laying of 100 km of cycling routes from the center of Kiev to the sleeping areas. At the end of the run, the organizers promise the participants a large festival with recreational and sports activities for children and adults. There will be bicycle races for children and adults, quests, photo zones, contests and even a bicycle fair.
Balloon Festival "Mongolfieria"

The balloon festival "Mongolfieria", which opened in Kiev at VDNKh last weekend, will continue on May 14-16 in the Makarovsky district, approximately 40 km from the capital. You will not be able to admire the huge balloons for free: in order to get a link to the location of the festival, you will have to buy an entrance ticket (190 UAH. for a family up to 5 people). Festival guests are offered a choice of tethered flights (10 minutes, lifting height up to 20 m, price 550-750 UAH) or free flights (30-40 minutes, lifting height up to 1000 m, price 3190 UAH) in balloons. With the purchase of any flight certificate, entrance to the festival for a group of up to 5 people is included in the price. It is quite possible to have a picnic in nature after flying in a hot air balloon, so stock up on blankets and food for a snack in advance.
Tulips in Dobropark
Where: from. Motyzhin, Kiev region
When: daily (departure of regular minibuses from metro Zhytomyrska every hour from 10:00 to 18:00)

You can spend time outdoors and admire the flowering of tulips in Dobropark, a 40-minute drive from Kiev. This is a large landscaped park with 400 football fields and its own lakes in an area where 3 million were planted this year. tulips of 97 different varieties. Flowering began in late April and will last until about May 20. However, there were still few flower beds last week. By observations of our journalist, who visited Dobropark before the May holidays, tulip fields will reach their peak blooming just this weekend. Therefore, there is every chance not only to have a good rest, but also to make a lot of beautiful photos.
Puppet show "Straw Bull"

The premiere of a children's play will take place at the "Puppet Theater on the Left Bank of the Dnieper" this weekend. Prepared for young spectators new "Straw Goby". And after the performance, you can walk in Kyoto Park, which is located right behind the theater, or walk one metro station to Victory Park, where children's attractions are already in full swing.
Dinosaur Planet Park

If you were already with your child in Dinopark on the Hydropark metro station, which we talked about in the last announcement, and if you liked it there, get ready to visit the new dino-location. On May 16, the "Planet of the Dinosaurs" opens at VDNKh. This exhibition features 20 unique life-size prehistoric dinosaur exhibits. All the figures are mobile, and some of them can even be ridden. In addition, several thematic photo zones, children's locations with excavation of fossils, play areas and labyrinths will be arranged in the park.
Swimming pool "Pier 39"

If you are missing a beach holiday, and you already have no strength to wait for the opening of the swimming season, you can go to an unusual pool with your children. On weekdays, "Pier 39" works in a sports mode for training, but on weekends there is a real resort. There is a relaxation area with sun loungers and two swimming pools: a children's pool with a 13 sq. m, and an adult with an area of 25 sq. m. The water in both pools is heated. The only thing that can interfere with swimming is cold weather. Pier 39 is open-air and opens at a comfortable air temperature. Therefore, before the trip, be sure to go to the VDNKh website and find out if the pool will be open this weekend.
Children's race with obstacles "Race Nation Kids"

Sports families are being challenged this weekend: on May 15, the Pirogovo motorcycle track will host large-scale obstacle course for children from 7 to 13 years old. The race is organized by the Race Nation organization. To test the agility and endurance of the guys, a team of experts prepared one kilometer of a specially designed track, including a wide variety of obstacles. The main task of the participants in the race is to get to the finish line on their own, if possible. However, parents are allowed to accompany the children along the track, and in addition, there will be volunteers at each section of the distance who, if necessary, will help the young champions. By the way, adults can also take part in the race, but on an adult track: they will need to overcome a distance of 3 km and more than 15 obstacles.
