TOP 10 rules of safe online behavior

  1. Create a strong password for your account. It must contain numbers, uppercase and lowercase letters, and other characters like "#", "_". So the strong password is "1dUnaUr0k_382".
  2. Use the principle of communication on the Internet "Billboard Test". Its essence is simple - before publishing any personal information on the network, answer a simple question: "Am I ready to see this information / photo on a billboard, on the walls or at the entrance to my school?" This will help you understand whether it is worth sharing your personal data / photos online.
  3. Never store your login and password in your browser. Quite often, browsers offer users to "make life easier" by saving their username and password, because they do not have to remember or write this data in a notebook. Don't get fooled by this. Better not be lazy and write down passwords from all profiles. It's safer this way.

  4. Delete suspicious emails from strangers right away. They are easy to recognize by their vocabulary. As a rule, the names of spam letters or letters from scammers use expressive words, words with calls to action, etc.
  5. Learn to recognize phishing site copies. Once on cloned sites, an absent-minded user can send his data to scammers. Pay attention to the accuracy of the spelling of the website address. Anything else (font size, comments, logo, design and corporate colors) can be faked by cybercriminals.
  6. Remember the algorithm of actions that can save you from sexting. If you are faced with manifestations of sexting: inform your parents, educators or psychologist; do not send intimate photos to anyone; contact the Stop Sexting chatbot; call the National Children's Hotline - 116 111.
  7. You need to install no more than one anti-virus program on your PC. Ask the experts which "computer protection" is better to choose.
  8. Be careful with online purchases. All payments must be coordinated with the parents and made only under their supervision.
  9. Stick to netiquette. Don't hurt others, don't be intrusive, and don't let your negative emotions get out of hand.
  10. Download apps from the official developer sites. Do not use suspicious sites or file hosting services. This will reduce the risk of downloading a virus to your PC instead of a program.
