Who among us, owners of straight hair, did not want to make ourselves luxurious curls, which in a couple of hours will not begin to straighten back, and the hair itself will not deteriorate?! :-)
Curling iron, hot rollers, professional care - all this gives a short-term effect. But not everything is so sad! Now, long-lasting curls can be obtained in one way, which many treat with apprehension - biowave.
Perm, which was done a few years ago, could be called extreme. Today, beauty salons use rather gentle hair formulations, which guarantee you luxurious curls for an average of 3-6 months. Maybe longer, depending on how you take care of your curls.
I must say right away: caring for curly hair is not trivial, there is more trouble, you can forget about all the products with sulfates. Many people do biowave, because they are too lazy to do styling in the morning, they want to wake up and go about business. True, then they are outraged by the fact that the curls straighten after one and a half to two months.
I explained the difference between bio-curling and traditional perm in a previous article. (link at the end). Biowave is not only a hair-friendly procedure, it also makes them visually much better: cystamine in the composition briefly completes the destroyed disulfide bonds during curling, i.e. hair cannot be restored would need.
Now let's look at three types of biowave with you: Japanese, Italian and American.
Japanese perm
What is the essence: Japanese cosmetics are used based on cystamine and many patented components, which are also involved in hair reconstruction. Simply put, the safest and even healthiest hair treatment.
There are always amino acids and chitosan in the composition, which strengthen the hair inside and restore the protein structure. Plus, the composition contains components that replace moisture in the hair structure, thereby preserving curls (are called hydrogen bond control components).
It is also important that only a Japanese perm can make curls for those who dye with henna (provided that they were painted no more than 3-4 times; if more - there is no point in curling). The pigment does not change colored hair, it is great for short hair. Perhaps the most versatile type of biowave.
Famous brands of professional cosmetics for Japanese curling - Hahonico and Lebel. Remember these two brands and feel free to ask the artisans which brands they work with. Now they can easily hang noodles on their ears and use Korean or Chinese professional cosmetics for Japanese curling. This is not it.
How much time lasts: 3-4 months on average, on colored hair - a little longer.
Disadvantage: very expensive procedure. on hair just below the shoulders - about 5-6 thousand rubles. But keep in mind that in Japanese perm, there is a hair restoration procedure as a bonus.
Italian perm
What is the essence: Italian cosmetics are used for biowaving. There is also cystamine in the composition, but it is inferior in composition to the Japanese: a little more aggressive, but active and persistent curls are obtained (when they are small and there are many, many of them).
Of course, curls do not look as natural as after a Japanese perm. But! The Italian perm is just a super solution for those girls who are worried about their "three hairs" and noticeable bald spots on the head. Very well suited for thin hair, when you want volume and visually hide the bald patches with curls.
Famous brands of Italian perming cosmetics - Mossa.
As for whether henna-dyed hair will be taken - I don't know. Masters do not guarantee results.
How much time lasts: up to six months, and with proper care (moisturizing masks, sulfate-free shampoos) - up to 8 months.
disadvantages: not suitable for colored hair (color may change), the risk of getting brittle hair in the future is slightly higher. nor does it give a crisp texture to the curls.
American perm
What is the essence: Olivia Garden (Zotos) curlers are used. This is the main difference between American curls and Japanese and Italian curls. It is rather difficult to buy them in Russia. These are not ordinary bobbins, and in the 90s they made a splash in the world of beauty: all Hollywood stars had large, airy curls with a pronounced texture.
Remember foreign advertisements for shampoos and styling products, where girls have voluminous wavy hair, curls looked natural, without creases and had a clear texture? So, many models for such commercials were curled on "Olivia Garden" curlers. The strands were twisted without elastic bands, the hair was not twisted. The curlers, like a Lego constructor, were well fastened to each other, due to which it is easier for the master develop a curl texture: from elastic afro curls to Hollywood airy curls without lifting root zone.
What is now called American perm is marketing, they just repackaged the usual the procedure for curling with such curlers, only modern cysteine formulations are used that do not spoil the hair.
How much time lasts: on average - 3 months, if biowave formulations were used; 6 months - if thioglycolic agents that are aggressive to the hair have been used.
disadvantages: impossible to do on short hair, the length of which does not exceed 15 cm (they simply will not take on curlers).
If it was interesting and you figured out a little about the difference between these three types of biowave - do not skimp on the "thumbs up" and subscription to the channel. There will still be a lot of interesting materials for hair care.
