Gadgets can provoke suicidal thoughts in a teenager, the researchers concluded.

If a child watches TV or plays on a smartphone for a long time, in the future he may really suffer from an unstable psychological state.

Such unexpected conclusions were reached by researcher Sarah Coyne, who is the deputy director of the School of Family Life at Brigham Young University, after a decade observation behind a group of teenagers from 10 to 13 years old.

We do not undertake to argue that addiction to gadgets can lead to suicide, but a gradual distance from family and friends because of gadgets is a clear marker that in the future a teenager may have serious problems in this sphere,
- explained the family therapist P.J. Wenger. What should parents do?

Psychologists argue that it is necessary to establish a clear time frame when a child can retire with his favorite computer game or watch TV. The rest of the time, parents are advised to spend with the child, for example, go out with him for a walk.
