Women in a position infected with coronavirus are more likely to experience complications, including serious ones.
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention conducted a study to determine the impact of coronavirus on pregnancy. It turned out that women who carried a child while being infected COVID-19have experienced severe bleeding, pressure surges and even premature birth, writes the Daily Mail, citing the findings of doctors.
In the course of the study, scientists studied information about the health of 1,219 women who gave birth in 2020.
About half of women with the infection had no symptoms (47%), 27% said they had suffered coronavirus is easy, 14% had moderate manifestations of the disease, and 8% and 4% had severe and critical, respectively. Four women died, bringing the death rate to 0.3%.
Our research shows that serious complications occur in women who are not comfortable with COVID. In women who generally tolerated the virus easily, we did not record additional risks of complications,- said the lead author of the study, Professor Dr. Torrey Metz.
He urged pregnant women to pay attention to diagnosis and hygiene.
