Most children love to take a bath, splash around with toys for a long time. But this fun activity has its dangers.
Therefore, it is important for parents of preschoolers to remember the main rules on how to make the child's bathing safe.
1. A preschool child should not be left alone in the bath
If we are talking about a child under 5 years old, then we cannot leave even for a minute, older - the door must be open, and adults must regularly check the state of affairs (but it is better not to leave yourself either - after all, you can sit down and read a book, at the end ends).
Adopt the rule: if you still need to move out of the bathroom (even for a few seconds, as it seems) from the child over 2 years old (you cannot leave until this age), then before that, remove the plug from the drain - let the water begin to descend. If you really come back quickly - she won't have time to leave completely, if you linger - the child will be relatively safe as the water leaves.
2. The bathtub should not be slippery
The simplest solution is a rubber mat, which is attached to the bottom of the tub with Velcro. Children can be very active when playing with water - there is a high risk of slipping and injury. This often happens to adults and can be very dangerous.
You need to attach a special handle to the wall to make it easier to get up and sit down - it will be useful for both children and adults. There are also bathtubs with such handles already built into the sides, which is also very convenient.
3. Games - only safe
Children love not only to whip in the bath, but also to dive, hold their breath, "swim", actively waving their arms and legs and flooding the floor (and neighbors at the same time). All this cannot be strictly prohibited, because the child will try anyway, only in your absence. Agree that he sets up such experiments exclusively in your presence.4. The bath must be clean
But there is an important note: clean not only from dirt, plaque or sand, but also from the chemicals with which you wash the plumbing. Before bathing the child, the bath must be thoroughly rinsed with hot water from the shower.
5. The door cannot be locked
With a child of 6-8 years old, you can agree that he does not close the door with an internal lock, but you will go a couple of times to check that everything is fine with him (do not enter without knocking!). You shouldn't go to older children at all - but you can ask through the door how you are doing.
Children are not allowed to lock themselves with an internal lock, because if necessary, you will not be able to quickly help. On the other hand, if you constantly enter without asking, the child will still begin to close.
